Love, My Elemental Prayer

Poem:

I made a self-declaration this lifetime—
to walk as a student and steward of love.

I’ve dedicated my life
to exploring the mysteries of love—
its subtleties and its broad strokes.

I am carried by it.
I tend it,
channel it,
surrender to it.
I embody it,
ignite it,
let it flow through me,
and float in the ocean—
the crystalline wellspring of love,
as source.

I recognize myself as love.

Its depth is sublime—
vast, mysterious,
a stillness that sings beneath the surface.

It has been the central theme of my life,
a current, a chorus,
a spark I’ve carried
through this incarnation.

I have been intimate with its textures,
danced with its tides,
and let it remake me,
again and again.

There is a surrender to it—
a tender unspooling,
a stepping aside,
getting out of my own way—
releasing the grasping, the clasping,
the urge to contain what cannot be contained.

There is the grace of immersion,
letting it wash through me,
lapping at the jagged shoreline
where love meets resistance,
filling every hollow,
every hush.

And there is a humble reverence—
for love as life itself,
as pure impulse,
as the spark of creation and the breath of beingness,
as consciousness—
alive, awake,
ever pulsing through the fabric of all that is.

I recognize myself as love.

I inhale love
and exhale love—
consciously,
as choice.
