This poem flows on from my previous writing this week: I’m Done Worshipping: I Took Back My Power
Poem:
Your parents are not living your life.
Your children are not living your life.
Your partner is not living your life.
The Guru is not living your life.
ChatGPT is not living your life.
Your past self is not who is living in this moment.
Your future self may be calling you forth —
whispering invitations of intention and evolution.
We can receive insights, nudges, and answers from many sources,
but the embodiment of truth… that is ours alone.
No one else can live it for us.
Others will project — and often do —
but only to the extent that we allow it.
These projections are often the unclaimed fragments of themselves,
mirrored onto you like shadows seeking light.
When one cannot embrace an aspect within,
they cast it outward.
It has become a pandemic —
this disowning, this aversion to accountability,
this fleeing from the inner landscape instead of pausing to witness what lies within.
I know this myself.
I’ve done it too.
And yet… in the deep choosing to own my shadows,
in the fierce reclaiming of my projections —
I also claim my actions, as soon as awareness or clarity moves me.
This is what frees us.
True freedom is not something we chase —
it is what we become when we stop running from ourselves.
A quiet doorway to freedom.
Always within reach.
